Draw Before Do, Again

A lot of things have to be contemplated before you start to think of the arrangement of your living room. Room size, whether it is attached or not, your furniture size, the occasions you might use the room for etc. After considering all these things and more, you can finally put the pen or pencil on the paper to draw the draft of your living room. For more information, you can lend you glance in here.

Start With Something Big

Now that you’ve finished the drawing, initiate your arrangement of furniture with the big ones – Sofa, TV, Table, shelf. Once you’ve done that, you can play with rest of the items to see where they fit perfectly whether they were included in the drawing or not because sometimes, human mind is fleeting.

Let Them Breathe
The conventional way to push all the pieces of furniture against walls is not always the proper way to arrange furniture in a living room. Depending on space size, this notion might vary. For a big living room, this shows an awkward middle space in the room. Keeping some space between the walls and furniture might look more lively, since this is the living room (pun intended).

Flexibility Of Furniture

Use smaller furniture like chairs, tools etc. to provide a function of flexibility to switch up your living room arrangement of furniture depending on the occasion. You can move around the chairs, tools, and small tables to fill up the empty space as well as to accommodate your guests and the environment of engaging in conversations with them.

Rug Arrange

Use a large area rug to unify a seating group within a larger space. As a general notion, all key furniture should fit on top of the rug. If the situation becomes less savory where rug isn't big enough to contain all the furniture, make sure that the front legs of all pieces stay on the rug.

Create Some Zones

If you have dining space / dining room attached to the living room, divide the space into separate zones with furniture arrangement. Position the sofa facing away from the dining room which will automatically define the “beginning” of living room space. You can also arrange living room furniture closer together to make a spacious room feel more cozy.
